Campaign Against Bullying in the WorkplaceAs both a participant and an invited speaker (to discuss the forms of harassment I endured at Lomitas Elementary School, of the Victor Elementary School District in Victorville, CA) at the First International (January 2000) Conference on Workplace Bullying - "Redefining Harassment", sponsored by the Campaign Against Workplace Bullying (CAWB), the American Society for Ethics in Education would like to align itself with CAWB as a Special Interest Group designed to assist educators. One of the issues that was made very apparent at this conference (which did not focus on any specific occupation), is that bullying in education is at a crisis level with thousands of educators being ignored by the National Education A$$ociation and other alleged teacher advocacy groups. Another speaker discussed just ONE school district where HUNDREDS of teachers have been positively identified, as suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This epidemic is directly attributable to the horrible harassment these teachers are subjected to on a long-term basis. It was also important to note that educators made up one of the largest groups in attendance at this conference. Visit the Campaign Against Workplace Bullying Website! CAWB Pages of Special Interest for Teachers: Be sure to check the main Campaign Against Workplace Bullying Website for more information (The CAWB site provides extensive information that may be of use to educators that are harassed!)
